It is important to have healthy, fertile animals. After all, healthy cows give more milk, and with good nutrient contents. Also, they will be pregnant again on time, so that average production will be high. Is your herd healthy, but are milk yields not as high as you expected? There are a number of things you can pay attention to, and one of them is feed intake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you increase milk yields?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Why are cows that are fed regularly more healthy? Because this way, the pH of the rumen remains stable. If feeding stops for several hours, the acidity will fluctuate. That is logical, because after some time they require energy again. If your cows eat several smaller portions throughout the day, they perform better and the feed intake increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An additional advantage is that your cows do not have to stretch for their feed. This greatly lowers the risk of pressure sores in the neck and shoulders and hoof problems. Automatic feeding also allows your cows to lay down and relax in between feeds, because they do not have to compete with each other over the feed at specific times. All in all, this results in happier and therefore better performing animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
