Devising, drawing, producing, testing and checking. In his work as an engineer, Dennis Klaver is involved in every aspect of the continued development of JOZ solutions. Together with his colleagues, he\u2019s constantly looking for ways to make our products even more sustainable, reliable and animal-friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In-house development<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Production at JOZ is entirely in-house, from start to finish. That gives JOZ the freedom to develop new and improved products. One of the innovations with which Dennis was closely involved is the Multi-scraper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was asked what our best manure scraper was, and I immediately replied that it would in fact be a combination of 3 existing scrapers. With that in mind, we got to work on designing, producing and testing a new model, and within a year the Multi-scraper prototype was ready. This is the only manure scraper in the world that is built from components and is mainly made of cast iron. I\u2019m really proud of it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extensive testing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before a new product is placed on the market, it has to undergo a whole range of tests. “For example, we asked 10 farms to test the multi-scraper in their stables for a whole year. This method gives enough time to find out how a new design works, and where it can be improved. You get immediate feedback from the customer. During such a year of testing, the scraper can be modified and improved step by step. We only place a product on the market after it has passed every test, which can take 2 to 2.5 years.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New sales configurator<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dennis is currently developing a sales configurator together with his colleague, so that sales representatives and dealers can advise their customers appropriately. Data such as the type of floor, the type of box litter and the amount of livestock are entered into the system, so that the right product can be recommended. “Customers can enter data into the configurator together with their dealer. It means we know for sure that customers are always offered the right product for their specific stable.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Challenges for the future<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Looking into the future, Dennis still sees plenty of opportunities and interesting challenges. \u201cChanging legislation is causing many farmers to switch to low-emission floors. That means solid floors are becoming more common. It\u2019s even more important to keep this type of floor clean so that cows remain healthy. We are also further developing our systems for pig farming and poultry farming, to make sure that we really do have the right product for every stable.”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
