'Every day is different and challenging'

Vincent Demond

Field Service Engineer France

Reading time: 4 minutes

Vincent Demond joined the JOZ team in France as Field Service Engineer in February 2023. Together with his colleague Florentin, he supports dealers throughout France, with Vincent focusing on the eastern part of the country. He talks with great enthusiasm about his role, the challenges and why he enjoys going to work every day.

Technical support and training

“In my role, I provide technical support to dealers who sell and install JOZ products,” says Vincent. “When they sell a new machine to a farmer, such as a Nano manure robot, I help them from start to finish with the installation process. I make sure they have a good understanding of the software and the knowledge to carry out installations independently in the future.”

Vincent also focuses on after-sales service. “Every day is different,” he says. “I not only help with the installation of new robots, but also resolve technical issues and provide on-site training.”

Personal drive and commitment

Vincent has been working in the agricultural industry for several years and has really found his footing there. “Being able to help technicians and thus the farmers who ultimately use the solutions gives me great satisfaction. Because we work closely together, I build up valuable relationships. Moreover, the work is challenging and I learn every day. It is more enriching and stimulating than I ever imagined.”

Feed pusher robot Moov 2.0 and manure robot Nano

Vincent is proud to work on solutions such as manure robot Nano and feed pusher robot Moov 2.0. “The Moov is easy to install and offers farmers a practical solution,” he says. “Pushing feed automatically saves them a lot of time and effort. The Nano is a very compact manure robot, making it perfect for small barns. In the mountainous regions where I work, small barns are common, so it is really appreciated. This scraper can get everywhere and cleans thoroughly.”

Challenges and solutions

The dealers and farmers with whom Vincent works face technical challenges on a regular basis. “Sometimes a robot will do something unexpected, like turn in circles,” Vincent explains. “Often the solution is easy to find; a sensor might be faulty, for example. It’s up to me to work with those involved to find the cause. I then try to solve the problem as quickly as possible so they can continue their work with the least possible delay.”

Innovation and collaboration

At JOZ, innovation is a key focus. In his role, Vincent witnesses this every day. “When I joined the JOZ technical team, the Barn-E manure robot had just been launched. Based on feedback from farmers, we then made many improvements to the solution. By really listening to farmers about things they encountered, we were able to develop a very reliable robot. We always continue to innovate.”

According to Vincent, it is primarily the innovative technology and user-friendliness that make JOZ’s products unique. “They are autonomous and work with the same technology, which makes them easy for farmers to use. They are without a doubt the best on the market.”

A close-knit team and enriching experience

Vincent enjoys the variety of his work as well as the travel that comes with it. “When I go abroad, it feels like I’m on holiday,” he says. “Whether it’s in France, Belgium or Switzerland, every encounter and every experience makes me better at my job.”

What makes working at JOZ so special for Vincent? He finds that is largely due to the collegiality. “Everyone is ready to help each other and that makes for a good working atmosphere. JOZ feels like a big, close-knit family and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
