Barn-E PRO and Moov 2PRO: Less work, more certainty

Good news for farmers: JOZ has renewed both the Barn-E manure robot and the Moov 2.0 feed pusher robot. The PRO versions of these robots are stronger, smarter, and more user-friendly than ever. “We especially listened carefully to feedback from practice,” says product specialist Henk. “You can see this reflected in the ease of use, reliability, and lifespan of both machines.”

Barn-E PRO: a new standard in manure robotics

Since its introduction in 2021, the Barn-E has become a staple in dairy barns with solid floors. The robot is unique and the most powerful in its class: instead of pushing manure, it actively collects and removes it. “This makes the Barn-E suitable for virtually every barn, from cubicle systems with mattresses to deep litter boxes,” explains Henk. “Whether you use straw, sawdust, or separated manure, the Barn-E handles it all with ease.”

Key improvements of the Barn-E PRO

Significant improvements have been made to the Barn-E PRO, focusing on durability, ease of maintenance, and reliability. “The manure container is now made entirely of stainless steel,” says Henk. “This not only prevents rust but also makes the machine much more durable in the harsh barn environment.” The closing flap has also been renewed: it is stronger and galvanized. Furthermore, the main control board and manual control have been relocated inside a separate drawer that is well protected from manure and moisture, and more accessible.

Other important upgrades include:

• The motors controlling the closing flap are coated with heavy-duty protection to prevent corrosion.
• The base plates under the side flaps are now replaceable. If a farmer forgets to replace the rubber on the side flap in time, the new replaceable base plate prevents major damage and high replacement costs.
• The loading strips can now be mounted and dismounted from the outside instead of the inside, making replacement very quick and easy.
• The robot now has two lifting eyes instead of one, allowing safer and more stable handling and transport during maintenance.

Smarter software for more convenience

Not only the hardware but also the Barn-E PRO software has been updated. “Bugs that occasionally caused freezes or route problems have been completely fixed,” Henk explains. “The robot reliably drives its routes and can automatically reset if it encounters an obstacle. This means farmers hardly need to intervene.”

What’s the benefit for farmers? “Fewer malfunctions, fewer unexpected costs, and a barn that stays clean without extra effort,” sums up Henk.

Moov 2PRO: ready for all weather conditions

The Moov 2.0 feed pusher robot from JOZ also received a PRO-level upgrade. “The base was already high quality,” Henk explains, “but because the Moov sometimes operates outside, for example between different barns with different surfaces, we focused extra on weather protection.”

What exactly did we improve on the Moov 2PRO? For example, the top cover now keeps out rain and dirt even better. We also reinforced the swivel wheel and renewed the lift motor, so the Moov 2PRO stays better in position on uneven terrain such as cobblestone roads.

Henk: “Farmers now have less to worry about when the Moov travels short distances outside. The machine is truly more robust and better able to handle tough and wet conditions.”

Renewed JOZ Management System (JMS)

Another upgrade benefiting users of both Barn-E PRO and Moov 2PRO is the renewed JOZ Management System (JMS). “Dealers can now monitor the machines’ driving behavior and analyze faults remotely via the internet,” says Henk. “This saves travel time and costs, and prevents unnecessary downtime.”

“In the future, we want to be able to perform software updates remotely as well,” Henk continues. “If we no longer have to update on site with a USB stick, maintenance becomes less labor-intensive, safer, and farmers get help faster.”
