40% grant on barn automation in Northern Ireland

Livestock farmers in Northern Ireland can apply for a 40% grant on robotic manure scrapers and collectors through the Sustainable Farming Investment Scheme (SFIS). The scheme includes JOZ systems and is open until 3 September 2026.

Investments between £3,000 and £62,500 are eligible, with a maximum grant of £25,000 per farm business.

The scheme includes, among others:

Robotic manure scrapers and collectors
Automated systems that independently clean manure passages on slatted or solid floors.

Robotic feed-pushing systems
Programmable systems that automatically push feed along the feeding fence.

Conventional scraper installations
Electric scraper systems that automatically remove manure from the barn floor.

Final eligible amounts are based on reference prices per item and are determined within the scheme.
